Mama Ann's Safe House for Girls

Our story

Built from decades of work already underway in Kilifi.

Since 2001, Apostle Simon Karisa and the HIM Kenya team have built a network of thousands of churches across the region. In 2002, Rock Creek Academy was founded alongside that work — today enrolling over 480 children, more than 200 of them orphans currently housed by fellow student families out of necessity, not design.

In 2023, land was purchased to build a dedicated home to house and protect vulnerable girls. Construction has been funded step by step by donors like you, and in April 2025 the building was completed — marked with a wonderful celebration, and formally dedicated on May 17, 2025.

Completing the structure was only part of the work. It took time afterward to purchase beds and hire and train staff. In January 2026, Mama Ann, Connie Adams, Susan Perry, and Terryl Walters traveled to Kilifi to prepare the way for the girls. With excitement, 30 girls moved in that April. In early May, Mark and Ann Tubbs led a team back to Kilifi to meet and minister to the girls in their new home. Once fully complete, the home will provide safe, permanent housing for up to 60 girls.

Support the house

The house runs on more hands than ours.

Mama Ann's Safe House operates entirely on donations, grants, and volunteer time. Every shilling goes toward beds, meals, counseling, and school fees for the girls in our care.
